thanks for the entry... and the respond is indeed informative. BTW, as far as i'm concern, there are only 2 kopitiam certified halal by JAKIM, others are never bothered to get the certification or they simply can't get one. Just like u said, they never bothered and we never bother either. it's sad that some are just so ignorant... didn't they heard?

I noticed Old Town no longer has any form of halal certification. At least for the one I saw in Shah Alam. Any updates?

they just simply Pay for RM2000 for halal certified logo from IFRC(Bahtera Lagenda) not like JAKIM, it has to go certain e.g procedure, premise inspection for halal certification.!
And it allowed 0.5% alcohol contents on the food/drinks...

So, Lu Sendiri Fikir lah...
Its just a financial motivated organization...just like me and you come up a Halal Certification Company...and associate ourself with another company from let say Philippine...

well anybody want to earn easy money?...come let create Alladin HALAL ORg....kah...kah...

my 2 cents, i think it's quite risky for them to be non-halal, BUT, why did they apply for halal certification from the IFRC when they can just apply from JAKIM?

As far as my knowledge is concern, the halal certification is only for one of their brand of white coffee. The OTWC outlet does not have halal certification. So better avoid. Besides there are plenty of muslim owned kopitiam in semenanjung.

JAIS dah haramkan semua sijil yang dikeluarkan oleh 6 syarikat swasta. IFRC termasuk di dalamnya. Selagi White Coffee tidak dapat lesen dari JAKIM, Oldtown White Coffee tidak boleh dianggap halal.

betul ke ni??? seronoknye dengar...dulu saya n kengkawan mmg suke sgt lepak n menenangkn otak kt OTWC kt pandai dalam, PJ tu....pastu bile tak tk de halal certificate terus tak pegi dah tp kitorg selalu rindukan OTWC,,,huhu...bestnye.....leh gi lagi...dah halal....
